Though I cannot cook well myself, I love watching shows on Food Network. It is hard for me to pick a favorite show because there are so many I love, and I have set up season passes for quite a few Food Network shows on my satellite tv dvr. If I had to pick a favorite, right now it would be Ace of Cakes. It would never be possible for me to create cakes like they do, and I find it fascinating to watch them work. I love hearing the backstory on each project and I have learned a lot about the process of making a custom cake. I am glad I have satellite TV so I can keep up with the show. If I go even a few days without an episode I start to feel withdrawal symptoms. My favorite person on the show is Duff, of course. I love his sense of humor and getting a glimpse into how his mind works is fascinating. The process they go through from concept to completion amazes me and I enjoy watching the customer get the first look at the cake after it has been completed. I have also developed a great appreciation for the work that goes into these cakes. The people in the show are clearly artists rather than simply bakers and they create true masterpieces.

All cells in the body need water, oxygen, glucose and glutathione. The levels of glutathione in our cells could be predictive of how long we will live. For exhaustion and chronic fatigue sufferers reading this, the information that follows is vital to you!
What is glutathione? It is a tri-peptide, or a small protein composed of the amino acids cysteine, glycine and glutamate. Glutathione is made in every cell of the body and it must be made by the 3 amino acids, cysteine, glycine and glutamate. Your body is either replicating healthy cells and delaying the aging process or it is replicating unhealthy cells and speeding up the aging process. Every cell makes and recycles glutathione. The largest amount of glutathione in our bodies is found in the liver, lining of the lungs, kidney, heart and brain.
Why is glutathione important?
1. It is a major antioxidant produced by the cell. It is able to neutralize free radicals and recycle other antioxidants such as vitamins C & E. Glutathione actually helps your body more efficiently use the other antioxidants.
2. It is the body’s most effective detoxifier. It binds to undesirable toxins, pollutants, and cancer-causing chemicals, etc. and excretes them through the urine or gut.
3. It improves immune response
4. It helps regulate the cell’s vital functions, such as synthesis and repair of DNA.
5. It contributes to the production of red blood cells.
6. It helps in wound healing.
7. It helps build lean muscle mass.
8. It inhibits harmful viruses and bacteria in the gastrointestinal tract.
9. It increases one’s aerobic exercise capacity by up to 13%.
While glutathione is produced naturally in our bodies, glutathione levels decrease with age at the rate of 1% a year after age 20. In addition, levels of glutathione can be reduced by stress, exercise, infection, injury and environmental toxins. People who live to 100 years of age, will have glutathione levels similar to 30-50 year olds.
Reduced glutathione levels can result in lower energy, insomnia, cellular damage, inflammation, accelerated aging, and a weakened resistance to various diseases, including heart disease, cancer, arthritis and many other diseases. People with any defined disease have decreased glutathione levels compared with healthy individuals the same age. Low levels of glutathione are actually a marker for over 200 medical conditions. It could be said that low levels of glutathione equal cellular aging, disease, and death!
Glutathione helps to improve mental function, increases energy, improves concentration, permits increased exercise, and improves heart and lung function.
WHAT FOODS ARE HIGH IN GLUTATHIONE?
Avocado, watermelon, asparagus, walnuts, grapefruit, potato, acorn, squash, strawberries, orange, tomato, cantaloupe, broccoli.
Glutathione must be produced within the cell itself. Oral glutathione in pill form is not absorbed and will be eliminated by the liver before reaching the blood stream. Injectable glutathione is degraded by the time it gets to the cell and much of it cannot pass the cell membrane.
HOW CAN A PERSON INCREASE THEIR GLUTATHIONE LEVEL?
In addition to being able to get glutathione in some foods (as listed above), the best way to increase glutathione is through a glutathione precursor. Since glutathione is produced within the cell itself and cannot be easily absorbed into the cell, a person needs to consume a product that will enable the body to produce its own glutathione within the cells. This product would be considered to be a glutathione precursor.
A good glutathione precursor helps your body neutralize free radicals and build healthy cells. Your body replaces about 1% of your cells everyday. Your skin, body, organs, tissue are all constantly in a state of regeneration. Otherwise, your body cells are constantly dying and being regenerated. Thus, in about 3 months time, your cells and you, as a person, can make positive strides in getting healthier!

The notion of community college first developed in the United States. With the sole aim of getting students a job centric course that is affordably reliable. As for some, the four year graduate course has proved to be highly expensive and therefore they discontinue their education. Community colleges were set up for students who could not afford expensive courses, it was for them that this course was designed so that they could work as well as receive education in areas they seek to enter in future. Taking into consideration, certain specific areas which needed job oriented education and training, made community colleges a hit in local areas. Such colleges’ focal point was to provide students with an all round extensive training. The objective is training them to survive in the professional world.
These colleges offer various vocational courses to enroll in. Most students mistakenly take community college to be 13th grade, but it is not so. Their courses are equivalent to what the four year graduate programs offer, sometimes even better than them. In fact, if so is the case then students receive much better education at a community college that too at a cheaper price. In addition, students studying from a community college procure a chance to stay at home and not away. By the time their education is over they also learn to live independently, move out and handle all responsibilities.
Study at a community college gets over in a span of two years rather than four. This being another plus point saves two years, making it an option worth considering. You save two substantial years to move ahead.
Small size of classes at community colleges, make professors easily approachable. Where students get a chance to approach professors for solving problems, get added study assistance and individual attention. In a way, helping students to clear their doubts, spend more time in learning and hone their talents to get excellent grades. This small/limited group of professors and students makes it easy to socialize. These connections with faculty members will later on work as recommendations and open up a host of opportunities.
Canadian Community colleges are like sparks of hope in darkness for those students who cannot continue their education because of some hindrance.
Established in 1966, Centennial Community College was the first in Ontario. Initially serving in the east of Greater Toronto Area, via four campuses and seven satellite locations, Centennial College is well known across Canada for its history of ideal way of teaching and innovative programs. This Canadian college has highly career focused programs for candidates.
The school of Community and Health studies are famous for its innovative programs, eminent academic standards, and applied research in healthcare and educational technology. Centennial helps you transform your talents into professional skills.

In school, you were always told to study, but did anybody actually teach you how to study? From elementary school to high school you were on your own. The only thing you knew about studying was that there would be consequences (failure, poor grades) if you did not study. If you know how to read and want to take the time to improve your grades, read on. You will have an advantage over the other students when you know HOW TO STUDY.
The Need to Study
We are all taught early on that there is a need to study. Once you reach college, the need to study increases as the material becomes harder. There are very few people who can memorize the course material and spill it back on an exam. You need information in the form of a textbook, handout, or study guide. Prepare yourself to study, get the necessary reading and writing materials and prepare for success.
Studying does not mean that you are less than intelligent. Not studying is the real symbol of ignorance. A college education is very important, and more than likely you have had to struggle to get where you are. When the test comes back with a failing grade, you will feel very frustrated, maybe to the point of giving up.
Prepare to Study
You should have an “action plan” for studying. You wouldn’t go on a date or to a party without a “plan”, so preparation is necessary. It is not that much fun, but the extra effort will pay off. Make sure you are in a comfortable place where you can focus. If there is a lot of noise or music, or somebody vying for your attention, you will lose your concentration. You can buy the extra reference material from a book store, but trying to use it with the television on will not be effective. Make sure the television is off, the music is off, the phone is disengaged. Keep your mind on the subject you are studying and try to avoid distractions.
Break Time
Do not wait until the last minute to review your study guide. Take the time to look over the information, you may find things that are not familiar, or different from what you thought at first. Have a set time for your study sessions, pace yourself over a reasonable period of time so you are not overwhelmed by information. Take frequent breaks to allow the information to register in your mind. Rest your eyes to avoid a headache, and eat healthy snacks. It is a good idea to stay away from caffeine, sugar and those ever-so-popular “energy drinks”.
Take Note!
Rewriting the information is a good way to retain the material. You can re-write your classroom notes. This is a “rehearsal” for the mind, and re-introduces the information to your mind. You may find something you missed or misunderstood. Also translating margin notes and hastily scribbled notes will provide mental exercise for your study habits.
Take good notes in the classroom, if you cannot keep up you may wish to record the lecture and replay it when you are able to write the information down. The better and more detailed notes you take in the classroom will help you when you are studying.
Join or Start a Study Group
What you want out of a study group are students who take the material and the course seriously. You are not there to discuss the latest reality shows or focus on mindless gossip. You can all pitch in to purchase and share the reference materials. Most college students could use a financial break. If a group of people focus on the class material, you could pick up information you missed or provide missing information. Also, hearing another person’s take on the class materials may give you a better understanding of the class.
